We arrange installation of A-rated combi boilers, radiators, pipework and controls, all at no cost to you. We also support upgrades such as boiler replacements, insulation, and renewable heating options like heat pumps to improve energy efficiency and reduce bills.

Who qualifies

You may be eligible if you:

  • Live in a home that has never had central heating (no boiler or radiator system previously).

  • Are a homeowner, private tenant (with landlord’s consent), or landlord applying on behalf of tenants.

  • Reside in a property rated EPC E or below, with a requirement that post-installation the rating improves by at least two bands to reach D or above.

  • Receive one or more qualifying benefits, such as Universal Credit, Child Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, Housing Benefit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Working Tax Credit, etc.

  • No, ECO4 is funded by obligated energy suppliers. All works are installed at no cost to you. 

  • You might qualify if any of the following apply:

    • You or someone in your household receives qualifying benefits such as Universal Credit, JSA, ESA, Income Support, Housing Benefit, Tax Credits, or Pension Credit.

    • Household income is below £31,000/year, even without benefits, via Flexible Eligibility.

    • A health condition (e.g. respiratory, cardiovascular, mobility issues) that makes your home’s warmth crucial.

  • Yes, with landlord permission. The property must still meet eligibility criteria.

  • No, but if you had central heating before, you may be eligible for a boiler replacement grant instead.
